Tips and Tricks for Kakadu Roadtrip

  1. Pick your seasons - dry season is the coolest time of year to explore the national park, however it’s also the busiest time of year with tourists. If you preffer a quieter time, coming in the build up or wet season will mean it’s a lot quieter.

  2. Plan your days - Kakadu is hot all year round. It’s always best to walk, hike and swim in the mornings and evenings. During the middle of the day, you want to be in shade or driving. It’s a serious risk, if you spend too much time in the sun.

  3. Explore the small “less touristy” spots - Kakadu is full of hidden gems and people will flock to the popular places. You’ll often have better experiences with less people, at the smaller places.
