How to Stop your 4WD Car Drawers Rattling

When I first installed my drawers in my car, I told myself “you’ll get used to that rattle”

God was I was wrong.

My drawers rattling, drove me absolutely insane for three months.

I had to find an answer to what could fix them.

Why do Car Drawers Rattle?

This seems like a silly question to ask, but there is some logic behind it, hear me out…

When things rattle, it means that two objects are repeated banging against each other.

Which means - that you should be able to visually see where your drawers are rattling.

In my case, my drawers were rattling at the back of the drawer system. We need to stop this happening.

Stop your Drawers Rattling

Window & door seal tape works perfectly to stop rattles.

The easiest way to stop your drawers rattling is to add more padding to the back of your drawers.

This will in turn, keep more pressure against the locks on your drawers & stop any rattling going on.

I used window & door seal padded tape from Mitre 10 - it cost me all of $10.

However I think there is probably better quality products you can buy online - try searching for “padded tapes” on Google.

I then cut this tape up & threw it on the back of my drawers that were rattling.

I taped all around the edges of this drawer, which perfectly stopped any sound.

This is a fairly simple trick, but it works bloody well.

I filmed a video where I show you the results.
